I am a Devon based oil painter, painting as full time as possible while juggling being a Mum to my three children.
I paint Still lifes and occasionally portraits from my studio and landscapes out and about on location.
Landscapes for me, are about the experience of trying to put down on canvas, as much as I can see of what is in front of me.
With the changing light, weather and clouds, I hope to get an impression of a passage of time rather than a snapshot.
I have recently discovered a passion for still lifes.
I very much enjoy the feeling of calm and peacefulness while I'm painting them, I hope this comes across to the viewer.
Still lifes for me are about gratitude and an appreciation of the small things, beauty in the ordinary.
I have been a student of Louise Courtnell since 2015.Louise trained under her mentor Robert Lenkiewicz. Robert's teaching concentrated on the understanding of tone which Louise has passed on through her own teachings.
I love to work from life as much as possible.
